The long-distance trail links the three regions of Carinthia, Slovenia and Friuli-Venezia Giulia in 43 stages stretching approx. 750 km. You start at the foot of the highest mountain in Austria, Großglockner, and explore the most beautiful Carinthian mountain region and lakes as far as the tri-border region. From there, the trail continues through Italy and Slovenia as far as the Adriatic. Four stages of the impressive Alpe Adria Trail run through the Nockberge Biosphere Reserve. The stages can be walked in sequence or as individual stages. Either way, you will get to know the unique nature setting of the Carinthian Nockberge with all its beauty.
