Cycling and mountain biking in the varied nock/bike region in Carinthia
Cycling fun amidst mountains and lakes for leisurely and ambitious cyclists
The Carinthian Nockberge offer everything that delights biking enthusiasts: undulating peaks, mountain meadows, trails, steep terrain, all including a fabulous view of the southern alpine world as far as the crystal clear Carinthian lakes. Did you know that the nock/bike region of Lake Millstatt and Bad Kleinkirchheim is considered the best developed mountain bike network in Carinthia? Its 750 kilometres offer something suitable for everyone, from beginners to professionals, totalling 2300 altitude metres of downhill and over 1000 altitude metres of uphill. Those who would prefer downhill to uphill can be chauffeured conveniently to the peak by the Bad Kleinkirchheim cable cars with their bikes. If you do not want to cycle off independently, you can choose one of the options at the Krainer competence centre: introductory tours, technique workshops, half-day and full-day tours for all ability levels, as well as attractive bike packages. The Nockbike map available at tourism offices, at the sports school and at the reception provides perfect map material.
Challenging freeride tours with exciting trails lead you over the 2000-metre-high peaks of the Nockberge. Reaching the peak by bike is an absolute rarity, but in the undulating mountains bikers can experience the breathtaking panorama of the Carinthian world of mountains and lakes from high above. The trails have not been developed artificially but are along natural paths. Get to know the five unique nature single trails and combine the various bike routes with the highlight of the Bad Kleinkirchheim bike region:
